The Phantom Thief AU Meme

It's a dark night in Tokyo, and you are a Phantom Thief. What's a Phantom Thief? Someone who steals the desires of corrupt people. Or hey, maybe you're one of those that uses that other world, the Metaverse, for other purposes? That's fine too. Not everyone is a thief for justice, right?

To be a Phantom Thief, one must possess the will of rebellion - pushing back against the society that keeps them down or oppresses them. At that time, they will awaken to their Persona, and form a contract - I am thou, thou art I... - and also don a new outfit, one that matches their idea of what a rebel, a renegade, looks like. On top of that, a mask will also appear on their person, and to finish the contract, they must rip it off of them to show that they reject the will that society has forced upon them. After that, taking off their mask is how they summon their Persona in battle within the Metaverse.

Only in the Metaverse can one exhibit their will of rebellion - and thus, summon their Persona. These all have no effect in the real world... 99% of the time.

Of course, even those who do not seek to become Phantom Thieves can attain their Persona by exerting their Will of Rebellion. Obtaining a Persona does not automatically make someone a Phantom Thief!

If you are a Phantom Thief, you probably also have a code name - after all, who knows what effects your real name might bring when within a Palace? (A Palace is the result of the distorted desires of a person made manifest, in a place that they feel strongest in. A teacher in a school seeing himself as the king of a castle? That school will be a castle in the Metaverse, while things around it will still appear as they do in the real world.

- If you've thought of their Persona, tell us which one it is! If not, don't worry, you can make it up as you go!

- Do you play a Phantom Thief or Persona 5 character? Drop them on in as well! Top leveling is fine too!

1. Awakening - You've stumbled across something that's caused you to exert your will of rebellion - what are you going to do? You're not going to let yourself crumble, are you? Awaken your Persona! Or help your (newfound?) friend awaken theirs!

2. Palace Investigation - Whether you were looking for one or not, you've stumbled across a Palace. Maybe you accidentally said someone's name, their Palace's location and their distorted desire? (Hey, it's happened more than once in canon!) Do you dare investigate?

3. Mementos - While Palaces are the distorted desires of specific people, Mementos is everyone's Palace. Within the heart of the railroad system, countless monsters and unknown horrors await. What might you find here? Don't get lost...

4. Palace Ruler - You've met up with the Palace's ruler! But you can't steal their Treasure like this - maybe see what they want, and then escape!

5. You... are the Palace Ruler - Exactly what it says on the tin. You are the Palace's ruler, and you're running into the one breaking things all over your home. What will you do?

6. Take Your Heart - The Palace has been infiltrated, the mooks bashed, and the treasure located. Time to send that calling card and storm the base one last time! Be careful, though, the Palace Ruler is likely waiting for you!

7. Wildcard - idk man, who was phone? Do any mixture of the above or make up your own prompts! Go wild! I'm not your dad.
