Konoka wasn't really that foolish. Shining Stone Temple, besides its beauty, was known for being amazingly free of the more deadly and dangerous kinds of monsters. What wasn't known, was that it was only because a threat no one had ever escaped to tell the tale of had taken care of anything that big. And now the temple's secret guarding had set her eyes on a new piece for her collection.
Legends said a mirror was the best way to face this legendary beast, but all the mirrors in this temple just meant there was no escaping her eyes. And now that her gaze had fallen on Konoka, the poor girl didn't have a chance.
"There you are," the words echoed down the hall just as that gleam on the mirror resolved itself into a pair of glowing eyes, a flash of magenta right before the curse struck Konoka's body. The girl would find her body completely paralyzed, not even able to move a finger, or even so much as cry out. Which was unfortunate, since surely she wanted to turn around or scream, but all she could do was helplessly watch in the mirror as the owner of those glowing eyes, a huge, slithering shape started descending from the ceiling behind her, staring at her through the reflection of the mirror. The only sound was a hissing breath and slithering scales as the serpentine body slowly dropped down the floor and crept up behind the girl, but even seeing the approach, Konoka couldn't even turn to face it, much less try to resist as the shadowy figure drew closer.
