[Eglantine texts as only a mom or mom friend can: with bafflingly sincere emoticons.]

[True to her word, when Andi gets to the lounge she'll find Eglantine sitting in one of the armchairs around the coffee table, having pulled up another one for her friend to use.]

[And sat down next to Eglantine and didn't say anything for a minute.]

[Eglantine "smiles" warmly at her, an expression mostly achieved by the way she tilts her head and closes her eyes, given her complete absence of a mouth. After a moment, she hands Andi a glossy magazine, of the type that can be easily and cheaply picked up in various starports.]

I saw this the last time we docked and thought you might like it.

[It appears to be something made by and for history buffs and enthusiasts- it's mostly neat little facts about various old cultures, plus a lot of pretty photographs of old archaeological sites.]

[More importantly, though, it's a way for someone who might not be too familiar with the wider galaxy to pick up interesting little bits of information. People are nothing if not chatty about their niche interests, especially if they get the chance to write an article about them.]

[Her tone sounds slightly flat. But then, it always does. She did appreciate the gesture, and fully intended to read it later. Right now, though, she was distracted.

It's not often you have to clean up someone else's night of passion, after all.]

So that sure just happened.

[Eglantine nods sympathetically.]

It did.

[She seems less bothered by it, although perhaps that's just the result of having been a doctor for a while- this is hardly the worst worryingly unsanitary organic substance she's had to deal with.]

If it helps, I've sterilized the area quite thoroughly. And I'll be having a small talk with them about respecting public areas, once they've woken up.

[Plant mom's not angry with you, she's just disappointed. Although that might be worse.]
