The Fluff Meme

Fluff Meme

R U L E S:
1. Post your character with their name and series in the subject line.
2. Others respond using RNG. Roll 1 - 15 to pick a scenario.
3. Some scenarios have options (A - C). Pick any one from them or roll 1 - 3.
4. If there is no option that fits for you, then feel free to make one up!
5. And there you go, instant fluff~

Scenarios:

1. A little help, please?

A) Lost - You got lost somewhere, like a school or office building or even an unfamiliar city street, and it doesn't look like you can figure out the way back by yourself.

B) Bike/Car Trouble - Your mode of transportation has a flat tire and your cellphone battery is dead while you're in a middle of nowhere.

C) You Shrimp! - You’re just a short fry who can’t even reach the top shelf for an item. Or even if you’re tall enough, you STILL can’t reach it without a second hand. Like maybe, a ball that got stuck on a basketball’s ring.

2. Babysitting/Pet sitting

Your neighbor is going out of town for a few days. They ask you to take care of the pet (or the baby) for the time being. But you don't have to worry! Your neighbor hired someone to help you. You can only hope that person is reliable...

3. Playful Fight - The two of you are having such a nice time together, doing whatever it is you’re up to. Suddenly, one of you just can’t help but start teasing a little. Like maybe pick up the nearest object available and throw it to the other person's face.

A) Food Fight - Didn’t your mom always told you not to play with food?

B) Water Gun/Water Balloon Fight - Well, that’s one way to cool down.

C) Pillow Fight - Grab a pillow or two. It’s game time.

D) Tickle Fight - Who cares about objects! Your true weapon is your god hand!!

4. Hand to Hold - Something terrible just happened. It’s terrible enough to make you cry or flip a table. You don’t want to be alone right now with these feelings.

A) Shoulder to cry on - You’re not done crying and it just hurts to cry on your own hands.

B) Woke up from a bad dream - Did you get rickrolled in your sleep? Did you hear the trololo man’s song within your dreams? Sit up and tell that person to hold you right now!

C) Just had a bad day - Everybody’s against you today. Flop down that couch and start sulking.

5. Stuck/Stranded

A) Stuck in an elevator - You had places to go! People to see! But that can’t happen due a technical difficulty while you were riding the elevator. Fortunately or unfortunately you’re not alone.

B) Stuck due to rain - Just your luck, you forgot your umbrella. Do you wait it out or try to make a run for it?

C) Deserted Island - Due to a miracle, you survived the boat crash and even drifted ashore! Yay! Except... where the hell are you now? And, oh god, is that a dead body next to you? Wait, it moved!

6. Sick/Injury

A) Stuck at Home - It’s your fault that you stayed out the rain too long. Or maybe you just overworked yourself too much. Be careful!

B) Infirmary - Looks like you got into a minor accident. Guess it was a good thing that someone was there to help you to the clinic.

C) Hospital - Still waiting on the results for that last medical exam? Maybe you're EXPECTING A BABY. Whatever it is, at least you've got some company to keep your occupied.

7. Confession

A) In Person - Nothing is more sincere than a direct confession!

B) Love Letter - You’re so traditional. Are you going to put heart stickers, too?

C) Phone call/Text/Email/IMs - Ahh, the wonders of technology. You can even say how you feel through emoticons. :D <3

8. Date

A) Dinner - Whether it’s in restaurant or take-out at home, enjoy a meal with that special someone.

B) Movie - Cozy up on the couch watching a DVD or head to the mall to watch latest blockbuster.

C) Picnic - Grab a basket, grab some food, and pray to god that whoever prepared it knows how to cook. Watch out for ants.

9. New Kid On The Block

You’re new to the neighborhood. Maybe you’re a new student or a newly hired worker. Maybe you even just literally moved in. Either way, you miss your old home and your friends. You’re so lonely. Aww. Don’t worry, maybe fate will be kind to you and reward you with a new friend very soon.

10. A little extra help with work or school

A) Study partner - The exams are coming up! You thought of calling up someone to study with, hoping that it will increase your focus and all those other benefits.

B) Homework pain - You have an extremely difficult homework. You’re at the point where you want to throw it out the window.

C) Overtime at work - It’s shit-o-clock. You’ll never finish these on time. You might as well pull off an overnight at the office, unless a kind soul decides to assist you with work.

11. Hanging Out

A) Shopping - Maybe your victim date doesn't mind shopping with you. Maybe they did. Well, they're here now and they're not getting away from you that easily!

B) At a coffee shop - Maybe it's your first date and the two of you are testing the waters, maybe you bumped into each other. Whatever the reason was, there's nothing like two people just talking over a cup of coffee.

C) At a playground - Nothing wrong with reliving your childhood here. Last one to the swings is a rotten egg!

12. Somebody Save Me!

A) Drowning - Wow, you didn’t even bother checking if your life ring had enough air in it?

B) FIRE! - Good job. You burnt your kitchen and now there’s a forest fire in there.

C) Defending your honor - How dare you forget your rape whistle at home! Maybe screaming will send someone to your aid! KYAAA~

13. Couldn't Make It To Bed

A) Drunk passed out - Looks like you had too much to drink. Think you can still make it to bed by yourself?

B) Slept on the Couch - You’re ridiculously tired and that short nap on the couch became longer than you planned.

C) Fell asleep in the car - Not exactly the ideal place to fall asleep in (carbon monoxide poisoning and all). Luckily, someone’s coming to your rescue.

14. Outdoorsy stuff

A) Stargazing - Maybe you two just enjoy the sight of the sea of stars. Maybe either of you believe in the legend of the wishing star. Either way, the evening sky is shining down for the two of you.

B) Camping - Screw the city! Nature is truly the best! Grab your partner or be dragged off by them and explore to your heart’s content. Watch out for snakes or bears.

C) Field Trip - It’s a class field trip or a work’s group outing! What will you do? Explore every nook of the location you’re in? Stay in your room and play board games? Sneak out each other’s rooms to meet up tonight?

15. Wild card - Roll again, pick anything you’d like, or create your own scene.

Not gonna lie: It was absolutely terrifying but I didn't have enough time to start panicking until after it was all over. I had to get those poor bulls back and not just because I'd be financially ruined if I lost them. Like I said before, I'd raised them since they were calves.

[They were practically his own children at that point.]

Though I will admit that after everything settled down, I about had a panic attack over it. I had nightmares about that explosion for months.
goingbythebook: (Family truly is the greatest adventure)

[personal profile] goingbythebook 2019-04-28 06:32 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I bet I would too.

[He stirred a bit of the remaining food around his plate, staring down at it thoughtfully. Then he sighed a bit.]

When I was growing up... [Brief half-laugh; still plenty of "growing" to do] I absolutely fell in love with stories about you. The adventures you'd gone on, and the myths you'd encountered. The myths you yourself were. I was beyond excited to finally get the chance to meet you, and get all the truths behind everything I'd been hearing.

[Looking up at Scrooge, there was a smile on his face.]

It's been... absolutely incredible, being able to hear firsthand about your experiences. Heck, getting to live a few, too! I just know that someday, when I have kids- or nephews or nieces -of my own, I'm going to have so many amazing stories of my own to tell them.

But you know what? I think my favorite part has getting to know... you. It's not many people that Scrooge McDuck would admit having been afraid to, but you told me. You've told me a lot of things like that, and... I dunno, I like it. Getting to know the part of you that's a person too, and not just a legend.
richestduck: (Reminiscing - Happy)

[personal profile] richestduck 2019-04-28 06:39 am (UTC)(link)
[Scrooge is quiet for a long moment, surprised at what the lad told him.]

[Then a soft smile pulls across his beak.]

Most people actually don't like listening to me telling my old stories. They've heard them all before from unofficial biographies and people spreading them by word of mouth. It's good to be able to tell them myself and have someone listen to them.

[Because they're his stories, no one else's. And the people retelling them will get facts wrong or leave out important bits. Or worse, they make the tales so fantastic that no one believes them or they feel let down when they hear the real stories.]

So thank you, Huey, for letting an old man talk.

[personal profile] goingbythebook 2019-04-28 06:53 am (UTC)(link)
Of course, Uncle Scrooge. I'll always be up to hearing more stuff about you.

[He hasn't been the best about showing that, but he's already working on other things- like treating his siblings better -and dammit he can work on that too.]
richestduck: (Fond Smile)

[personal profile] richestduck 2019-04-28 07:02 am (UTC)(link)
[Scrooge's smile turns fond.]

I wouldn't mind hearing some stories about you and your brothers, too.

[He missed out on so much in ten years. Those are years he'll never get to experience with them.]
goingbythebook: (Check this out!)

[personal profile] goingbythebook 2019-04-28 07:06 am (UTC)(link)
[He chuckled, looking down rather shyly this time.]

I don't know how much there is to tell. Before we came here we were just a normal, boring family.

[Then he nodded and looked up with a smile.]

But I know what you mean, and sure. I... like the idea of a story exchange kinda thing.
richestduck: (Hat Covering Eyes)

[personal profile] richestduck 2019-04-28 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Not every great adventure is grand on the outside. [Scrooge's eyes grow distant.] I used to tell your mother that she was in for a real corker of an adventure when she was preparing to lay your eggs.
goingbythebook: (Little adoration)

[personal profile] goingbythebook 2019-04-28 11:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[The abrupt mention of Della caught him a little by surprise, but to his credit he kept the smile on his face, even if there was a sad edge to it now.]

Yeah... I could see that.
richestduck: (I messed up. How do I fix this?)

[personal profile] richestduck 2019-04-28 11:24 pm (UTC)(link)
[Scrooge grimaces slightly before using the wooden spoon to scrape what was burnt onto the skillet off before using a spare water bottle to rinse it out. He then puts the skillet back on the fire to boil off the water.]

In any case, there's nothing wrong with "normal" every day adventures.

[personal profile] goingbythebook 2019-04-28 11:30 pm (UTC)(link)
I know. [A faint chuckle as he looked down, using a bitten part of the bread to dab at the juices on the plate.] It just seems a little... less so against things like trekking dark jungles or creating snow caves on lonely peaks.
richestduck: (Awkward Smile)

[personal profile] richestduck 2019-04-28 11:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Just a matter of perspective, lad.

[Scrooge would give up the adventures if it meant getting those ten years back...or at least not ignoring Webby for ten years.]
goingbythebook: (Tabletop discussion)

[personal profile] goingbythebook 2019-04-28 11:37 pm (UTC)(link)
[He thought about that a moment, then nodded.]

That's true. And plus, now we'll get to write so many more, of both types, going forward right?

Like the London trip.
richestduck: (Meh)

[personal profile] richestduck 2019-04-28 11:39 pm (UTC)(link)
That's the idea.

At the very least, it'll keep Donald from having a stroke.

[personal profile] goingbythebook 2019-04-28 11:40 pm (UTC)(link)
[He snickered some.]

Point. But I don't just mean that trip. I want to go on so many with you, and Webby, and the others too! And now we finally get that chance!
richestduck: (I've Been Lying Sorry)

[personal profile] richestduck 2019-04-28 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
[His heart twists at that. There's no way Huey could've known what he'd been thinking, but it still hurts.]

[They might have ages to make up for those missing ten years...but Scrooge has tons of regrets regardless.]

Aye. That we do.
goingbythebook: (Garden Hose of Destiny!)

[personal profile] goingbythebook 2019-04-28 11:49 pm (UTC)(link)
[He nodded, putting aside his empty plate and hopping up.]

Just thinking about growing up on the road, with you, oh it's incredible!

[He practically squealed when he said that, walking around to his pack to get something.]

Exploring the world, seeing sights I'd normally only look at as photos in the Guidebook? [A little laugh.] And of course, the more "mundane" adventures too; some of the best days I've had have been here at the mansion!

[He pulled out a bag of marshmallows, tossing them up a bit and catching them, before grabbing one reusable roasting stick, and holding up a second in silent question if Scrooge wanted to join him.]

That's the stuff I only dreamt about, and now I get to live it. I feel really luck, Uncle Scrooge. I really do.
richestduck: (Fond Smile)

[personal profile] richestduck 2019-04-28 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[Scrooge's smile becomes a bit more genuine as he reaches out to take the offered stick.]

I feel rather lucky myself to be able to do this with you all. One thing I learned when adventuring with your Uncle Donald and your mother was that it was more fun to do so with family.

[He's always going to look at those missing ten years and feel sad and guilty about them, but at least he has whatever time he has left to spend time with his family.]

[personal profile] goingbythebook 2019-04-29 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
[He smiled as Scrooge took the stick, and he walked back to his earlier spot, opening the bag of marshmallows on the way.

...Okay, he'll have a few "raw" ones, if you insist.]

Oh I agree. I always prefer doing things with someone else than alone; that's why I'm glad you and I are out here.

[Aaannnd chubby marshmallow cheeks are a go.]
richestduck: (I got this.)

[personal profile] richestduck 2019-04-29 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
Honestly, it took me a while to realize it myself, but that's a whole different story.

[Scrooge sticks a few marshmallows on his stick before holding them out over the fire.]

I assume you'd like the end of the one about what happened with Krakatoa.
goingbythebook: (You really mean it?)

[personal profile] goingbythebook 2019-04-29 12:09 am (UTC)(link)
[Thankfully that's a "Yes or No" question, because Huey's ability to talk is sneaking in a quick nap.

...So is his ability to chew effectively, given the number of marshmallows, but he can manage.

Nodding enthusiastically at that, he sat back down and loaded up his own stick for roasting.]
richestduck: (Smirk)

[personal profile] richestduck 2019-04-29 12:15 am (UTC)(link)
[Scrooge smirks.]

So the gases passed over us without broiling us alive, but we were still too far behind the steamship. However, the aftereffects of the explosion weren't done yet. Next came the tsunami wave. I ordered the sails be unfurled and we caught enough leftover wind from the explosion to start moving ahead of the tsunami, mimicking what I'd seen of a man in Tahiti doing on a long board to ride the surf. We had to cut the sails free since we managed to ride the top of the wave, and the wind was actually pushing us back.

The wave struck an island but we were high enough to clear it, landing safely on the other side where the steamship had gone for cover from the wave. Just in time for pieces of Krakatoa itself to start raining down from the sky.

[personal profile] goingbythebook 2019-04-29 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Wow...!

[He laughed some as he said that, listening with rapt attention.]

What happened when the rocks started coming down?
richestduck: (Oh is that all?)

[personal profile] richestduck 2019-04-29 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Well, it turns out that some of the rocks were actually bits of lava that had cooled during their flight through the air. They were filled with air bubbles which let them float. Which made my life so much simpler. I had Hortense with me, after all, and she was the most sure-footed critter on the Chisholm Trail.

I saddled her up and rode her across the floating rocks right to the steamship. And I was madder than an entire hive of hornets, but unfortunately since I'd been knocked out during the racing demonstration, it created a loophole according to their laws: They'd "found" the livestock which more or less made it theirs by a sort of salvage rights. I was completely ruined.

And that's when the biggest chunk of Krakatoa fell and took off the back of the steamship.

[personal profile] goingbythebook 2019-04-29 12:26 am (UTC)(link)
[He let out a long, impressed whistle.]

Wow, I sure wish I could've seen that! Not many can claim riding a horse across open ocean water!

What happened to the steamship, and you and the livestock?
richestduck: (I got this.)

[personal profile] richestduck 2019-04-29 12:29 am (UTC)(link)
We all drowned. The end.

[And somehow managing to keep a straight face.]
