[Tails got his lunch, sat at the table with two of his friends, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. Lately, for some odd reason, he had been finding himself looking over at her, and sometimes noticing that she's looking over at him. He smiled, she smiled, nothing seemed odd about it. But for some really peculiar reason, looking at her made his heart start beating faster, and sometimes his cheeks burned a little as well. He didn't really understand it, so he wrote it off as just being happy to be her friend. And maybe that's just how she felt back, right?

Well, it looked like a certain cupid in pink had a job to do that day, because this had been going on for quite some time now...]

[Fluttershy nodded.] Mm...okay. That works...

Hm... okay, so how do we wanna do this?

Oh, I've got some outline ideas right here! [She tears out a page that DOESN'T have Fluttertails plotting on it.] I started on 'em while I was waiting for you guys!

Oh, that's a good idea...

[She takes a moment to read over the sheet.]

[Tails leaned over a little to look at the page as well, nodding a couple of times.]

That's a pretty good start.

Yay! Thank you, Twilight tutor time!

[Academic writing has never been Pinkie's strong suit, but thanks to Twilight Sparkle, she's able to hash out pretty good theses now.]

[Jotting down a few ideas of her own on Pinkie's outline, she then glanced at Tails to point out a few, smiling shyly.]

Maybe you could, um...l-look these up?

[He looked over at the paper again, and then looked at Fluttershy and nodded slowly.]

O-Okay.

[He opened his laptop, and started looking them up...]

[Yup, even more Cheshire grinning. And then she "suddenly" comes up with something.]

Oh! You know what, maybe we should order a pizza! We can have it delivered later so we can get a dinner break!

[Fluttershy blinks.] Deliver it...here?

[Tails looks up from his laptop screen.] Can you do that?

Yeah, it'd be easy peasy! Maud does it when she's holed up at the library on campus all the time! I just need to be at the door to get it!

Oh...I didn't know the library allows that...

[Tails wouldn't have guessed that, either.]

Hey, if it makes it easier to study and spend as much time as we need, I'm all for it.

Yeah, as long as we eat it in one of the study rooms and keep the books clean, we should be fine!

[Fluttershy nodded.] Okay...that would be a good idea, and it'd save some time...

Let's do it, then!

[And he's back to looking up the stuff Shy asked him to.]

[She's already standing up and pulling out her phone, a HUGE grin on her face.]

Sweet~! So one extra-large works, hold the meat on one side! And I'll tell 'em to have it here about an hour later! Be right back, you two~!

[And she's off to place that call somewhere she WON'T get shushed by the librarian.]

Alright!

[He starts looking at the page again.] Huh. Is that everything? [He flips the page over, and then just. Stares. A few seconds later, he turns red, and slaps the paper back down right-side up, attempting to get back to work on his laptop.

Hopefully Fluttershy isn't noticing this...]

[She wasn't at first. But when he slaps the paper down she jumps a bit, glancing up at him, blinking.]

...Are...Are you okay? Your face is all red...

[twotailedgenius]

Y-Yeah. T-Totally fine! [Totally not fine. He turns to her and tries to grin... but then he quickly turns away again. What was with the sudden embarrassment...?

Without thinking about it, he took his hand off the paper and quickly kept looking things up on his laptop.]

[Fluttershy couldn't help staring a bit at him. That was very strange...

Still, she didn't say much as she picked up the paper to look at the outline again, needing to write things down. It also occurred to her that she hadn't checked the back to see if there was more. So she flipped it over -

...And stared at the sheet, her eyes widening.]

[He looked over to her, and his face was back to red. For a split second, he thought of snatching the paper away - but for one, that'd be rude... and for another, it was too late. Whatever Pinkie was trying to say there got through to Fluttershy as well as him.

... He wasn't sure he understood what the meaning of it all was. But he certainly was still staring her way now.]

[Feeling her own cheeks heat up, Fluttershy carefully placed the paper down.]

U-Um...

[There was no point of asking if he'd seen that, because it was obvious he had. The question is, what did it even mean?]
