[Tails got his lunch, sat at the table with two of his friends, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. Lately, for some odd reason, he had been finding himself looking over at her, and sometimes noticing that she's looking over at him. He smiled, she smiled, nothing seemed odd about it. But for some really peculiar reason, looking at her made his heart start beating faster, and sometimes his cheeks burned a little as well. He didn't really understand it, so he wrote it off as just being happy to be her friend. And maybe that's just how she felt back, right?

Well, it looked like a certain cupid in pink had a job to do that day, because this had been going on for quite some time now...]

So we'll meet up after school, then, and head to the library.

[And on cue, there's the bell warning them to get to class.]

[Gathering her things, Fluttershy waved to them as they all headed to class.

The rest of the day went on as normal, and when the final bell rang, Fluttershy headed to her locker to get her things before heading to the library.]

[Tails happened to pass by Fluttershy, and decided to stop by to say something before they headed off.

Nevermind the fact that when he tried to actually say something to her, he paused for a second as his heart rate sped up a little. He doesn't get why still, but... he tries again to address her.]

H-Hey.

[strengthinkindness]

[Turning at the sudden voice, Fluttershy smiles shyly when she sees who it is.]

H...H-Hi...

[twotailedgenius]

S-So, um... y-you doing okay?

[Because that's the best he can do at the moment, apparently.]

[strengthinkindness]

[She nodded.] M-Mm...I'm doing all right. H-How about you?

[They're so good at this.]

Oh, I-I'm doing... g-great.

[A small awkward silence later...]

S-So um... you ready to go on to the l-library?

[strengthinkindness]

[She nodded, tucking some hair behind her ear.]

Mm...yes...

[twotailedgenius]

[He didn't understand why, but a small thought passed through him as she tucked her hair back. That was... kinda cute. But he still didn't understand. He rubbed the back of his neck a little, nervously.]

Alright, th-then shall we?

Mm...o-okay...

[She'll follow your lead.]

[He led her to the library, where Pinkie was likely waiting on them. After all, they were standing there talking for a minute or two.]

[Oh, no, please, take your time. She pretty much expected it now, given how it's become a bit of a routine lately. TOO routine, if anybody asked her.

But yup, she's waiting quite patiently at the front of the library, doodling and outlining plans for tonight... and for the book report too, that thing. And when she finally sees then, she waves enthusiastically as ever.]

Hey, guys~!

[Looking up, she smiles.]

Hi...sorry we're late...

Hey, Pinkie. Ready to get started?

That's okay; something THIS important is totally worth the wait! And yup, ready when you guys are!

[Fluttershy blinked, not quite sure how an English report was "worth the wait". It seemed better to get it done as soon as they could.

But deciding not to question it again, she smiled as they headed for the library.]

[Tails followed behind Fluttershy after a nod to Pinkie's words... even if they still confused him.]

[And onward they go! Eventually they find a nice, quiet-ish corner tucked away on one of the upper levels.]

Mm...I guess so...though shouldn't we be closer to a computer if we need to do some extra research?

It's alright, I brought my laptop just in case!

[And he pulls out said laptop from his bookbag, setting it on the table folded up.]

[Fluttershy nodded.] Mm...okay. That works...

Hm... okay, so how do we wanna do this?

Oh, I've got some outline ideas right here! [She tears out a page that DOESN'T have Fluttertails plotting on it.] I started on 'em while I was waiting for you guys!
